I think we’ve finally got that sewer gas problem under control. After moving some stuff around, I discovered this open drain pipe, hiding in the hallway:

We went to the hardware store later that day and picked up another Qwik Cap. Now the pipe is capped and so far, so good:

I seem to have come through my respiratory infection. Haven’t completely recovered, but feeling much better. Unfortunately, Jen’s come down with similar symptoms and she’s pretty sick. Guess that was inevitable. She’s holding off for now, but she may go and see a doctor if things don’t improve soon. We were invited to a party tonight but we had to cancel, which is disappointing. But, she’s in no shape to go anywhere right now. We spent the day at home. Watching TV and playing Viva Pinata.

I recorded this the morning that my iPhone got all busted up. And I haven’t gotten ’round to posting it until today. It’s a short recording of some rarely-heard pre-recorded announcements available to bus drivers on new SLO Transit buses. Within the last couple years, SLO Transit added GPS-enabled (at least, I think that’s how they work?) automated greetings that announce upcoming stops (in two languages!). But apparently, that announcement system has a few other pre-recorded phrases that drivers can play at will. I hadn’t ever heard any of these before, and I missed a couple before I was able to start the recording. Still, you’ll hear a few of them here along with some commentary from the driver and a passenger. The bus driver wasn’t playing these announcements while the bus was in transit. They were played while the bus was passing some spare minutes at a bus stop.

This is the episode where I christen the Tankard ‘O Terror with a healthy amount of Guinness, and then record a podcast while drinking it. Fun!

Shawn was kind enough to produce my show for me tonight. Which is a good thing, because I cannot imagine how bad this episode would have been if I had to push all the buttons myself.

This was the very first Inside My Head episode that was live streamed on the internet. It was fun, so, this may happen again in the future. Today’s episode was a bit of an experiment.
